A close encounter with "Wiggo"

Stage 6 of the Tour of Britain 2014 set off from the centre of Bath today and instead of fighting for a spot amidst the surprisingly large crowds in town I decided to watch from a vantage point on the Wellsway, one of Baths many hills. As well as being able to get some shots with Bath in the background I also hoped the hill may slow the riders down and turn a ten second whizz of wheels into maybe a 15 second whir. As it turned out I picked the best spot of the day!

The stage was due to finish in Hemel Hempstead, a mere 130 miles away so the chances of anything of note happening where I was standing were slim, and the chances of anything involving one of the riders I'd recognise even slimmer! So the chances of Sir Bradley Wiggins having a problem with his bike and stopping with his team car right in front of me to get on his second bike were probably one in a million.....

It was all over very quickly but I can confirm he is as skinny as you would imagine. Wiggo finished 47th today and is 7th in the overall standings...
